First i have to give a big ups to the organisers of the awards, its never been like Nigerians to create such exposure for our beloved webmasters. Webmasters in Nigeria has done more than enough to be praised for, but it always seems to be an obstacle on their way to progress. Lets not go into that for now, lets talk about Nigeria web awards. Now, The Nigeria Web Awards 2008 claims to be the National Approved Web site award program launched to honour Nigeria’s talented webmasters. The awards would name the Best Website in four industry categories, namely, Commercial Category, Entertainment Category, Community Category and Webmasters Honours.Nominations and votes for best web site would come from interactive agencies and web site marketing departments in more than 20 states from around Nigeria. Is this real?
See, that is the question i always ask, everyone is asking the same question. IS THIS REAL? What we don’t understand is that, it doesn’t have to be real, its all about exposure. On-line election has proved to be the best commercial technique the world uses today. Look at obama, what made him unique? ON-LINE ELECTION. It doesn’t have to be real, so far my website gets a nomination. Let me give you guys an example:
“James has a website, the website is a media sharing site, where you can download almost all songs and musical videos you ever wanted, but james’ so called website does not have the required exposure needed, tell me, how in the world will you come across that kind of site. But Nigeria web awards is doing just that. Don’t forget that it is written on that their website that its is not a Government property, but will be soon, if everyone supports them. Nigerians wake up, and lets give them a hand to progress, this will do nothing but turn on your marketing strategy.
Tell me just one organisation that has ever praised the Nigerian webmasters, Nigerian webmasters are the future of Nigeria’s technology. I saw a website the other day, hmmm….Switch on Naija. Mehn, you all need to see this site, its massive , huge and got lots of potential. That’s exactly what am saying, no one has heard or seen this site yet…Have you? Don’t lie...have you? See guys, lets supports the nigeria web awards, they have done us all good when it comes to exposure, now the challenges and willingness to do more will be shown in naija websites now.
